Actividad y participación de los ancianos en Mallorca: Análisis del contexto y sus consecuencias en la funcionalidad

[spa] La vida de los ancianos de hoy en Europa no es la misma que en décadas anteriores, además se prevé que el futuro nos va a traer más cambios; el aumento de la esperanza de vida a los 65 años es mayor, la salud general de los ancianos es mejor y existen más medios para el cuidado de los ancianos. Sin embargo, el desarrollo de la vida activa y la participación ciudadana de los mayores de 75 años no es un eje central en las políticas sociosanitarias que se ponen en práctica en nuestro entorno más cercano. Para explorar este fenómeno, abordo esta investigación bajo el paradigma crítico social siguiendo la teoría del constructivismo estructuralista de Pierre Bourdieu, centrándome en los conceptos campo, habitus y capital social, con el objetivo de explorar el impacto de los factores del entorno en el desarrollo de actividades de participación comunitaria de las personas mayores y su consecuencia en la funcionalidad. El diseño de la investigación es exploratorio con metodología cualitativa. El instrumento que me permite describir mejor el fenómeno es la entrevista, semiestructurada en base a los tópicos centrales de la investigación: actividad, participación y funcionalidad. A partir de los resultados que se obtendrían con las entrevistas, planteo un análisis del discurso de los entrevistados que, en el caso de realizar trabajo de campo permitirá planificar intervenciones en respuesta a las necesidades subjetivas de los participantes y por tanto conseguirán mayor adherencia a las actividades programadas

[eng] The life of the elderly in Europe today is not the same as in previous decades, it is also foreseen that the future will bring us more changes; the increase in life expectancy at age 65 is greater, the general health of the elderly is better and there are more means of caring for the elderly. However, the development of active life and citizen participation of people over 75 years of age is not a central axis in socio-health policies that are put into practice in our immediate environment. To explore this phenomenon, I approach this research under the social critical paradigm following the structuralist constructivism theory of Pierre Bourdieu, focusing on the concepts of field, habitus and social capital, with the aim of exploring the impact of environmental factors on the development of community participation activities of the elderly and their consequence in functionality. The design of the research is exploratory with qualitative methodology. The instrument that allows me to better describe the phenomenon is the interview, semi-structured based on the central topics of the research: activity, participation and functionality. From the results that would be obtained with the interviews, I propose an analysis of the discourse of the interviewees that, in the case of carrying out field work, will allow planning interventions in response to the subjective needs of the participants and therefore will achieve greater adherence to the scheduled activities.
