Limit of tourism- Study on over-tourism behavior in Mallorca, Spain

Abstract

[eng] This paper takes the tourism development status of Mallorca as the research object, through the literature review make a brief data collection and analysis was carried out on the characteristics of tourism behavior and the impact of tourism development. The results of the survey indicate that the tourism development of Mallorca is obviously unbalanced, it has caused obvious differences in the economic development of Palma ; Therefore, the number of tourists receiving the whole year shows unbalance; As the number of tourists shows a spurt growth in the spring and summer, there will be more obvious short-term over-travel conflicts, mainly focusing on the occupation of public space, overcrowding of beaches etc. At the same time, the development of some industrial chains driven by tourism has left many long-term contradictions, including the instability of housing economy and the problem of excessive commercialization of cities. Based on the above research, this paper combines the status of society and tourism development to find reasonable solutions for the over-tourism problem in Mallorca, so that the tourism industry can grow at a level that is positive and stable within the controllable range. Ensuring the tourism economy coexistence and common development with the local economy.
