[eng] It is important to understand the evolution and the global epidemiology of methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) because of its ability to acquire antibiotics
resistance. In this study, which was performed at Son Llàtzer Hospital (HSLL) and at
Universitat de les Illes Balears (UIB), 52 SARM isolates comprised over a period of
thirteen years (2003-2016) were recovered belonging to patients with bacteremia
infections. Firstly, results regarding to a sensitivity pattern for antibiotics showed the most
effective ones against MRSA were lipopeptides (100%), cotrimoxazole (100%), streptogramins (99,03%), glycopeptides (98,71%), tetracyclines (98,10%),
cephalosporins (98,08%) and aminoglycosides (71,15%). Particularly, effectiveness of
daptomycin and vancomycin were highlighted. Secondly, using molecular typing
techniques such as Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Multilocus Sequence Typing
(MLST), it was determined that the SARM clone most frequently observed was ST-125,
which has been associated with nosocomial infections. For ST-125, the antibiogram
determined gentamicin and erythromycin were the most variable according to their
effectiveness. In less abundance, ST-8 clones were determined. This strain, initially
associated with community infections, is nowadays related to nosocomial infections. For
ST-8, the antibiogram determined levofloxacin, clindamycin, erythromycin and
ciprofloxacin had the most variable effectiveness. All these results provide a new vision
regarding to MRSA multiresistance. |
