Mallorca Marina’s Sector: Competitivity Analysis

Abstract

[eng] This project analyzes the competitivity of west coast Mallorca’s marinas, focusing specifically in a particular case study and taking this as a practical example. Initially it will be described the current context of marina’s sector in the Mediterranean. In the second part of the analysis, it will be closed gradually the focus just on the ports of Mallorca (mainly located on the West Coast of the island) that take profit of the same niche of market as the object firm this project intends to analyze, mainly yachts and superyachts above 15-20 meters’ length and the analysis of a case study example will be developed. Finally, the third part of the text will present results of the analysis as it will be developed an analysis of the sector competitivity concentration through a Herfindahl-Hirschman’s Index interpretation, a PESTLE analysis (Political, Economical, Social, Technological, Legal and Environmental) and a 5 Porter’s Forces analysis of object firm’s competitivity within the sector.
