d’aus i mamífers, diferències de comportament i morfològiques respecte a les poblacions rurals.

[eng] Since the end of the 19th century, the process of urbanization has grown exponentially throughout the
world. On the one hand, it involves a loss of biodiversity and, on the other, the adaptation and
proliferation of some wild species to this environment. These species have common characteristics
that allow them to cope with the disadvantages that exist along the urban gradient. They have
observed, especially in the case of birds and mammals, differences in behavior and morphology with
respect to rural populations. In this paper, we determine which species have been established in the
urban and suburban areas of the Iberian Peninsula and in the Balearic Islands. Secondly, it analyzes
how inter-specific relationships are modified, what the adaptation mechanism is (phenotypic
plascticity or genetic variation) and what repercussions they have on the evolution of urban species.
Finally, the factors that affect the ecology of parasitic diseases will be determined and if there is a risk
of zoonosis in the Balearic Islands, how can it be prevented. There has been the establishment of
allochthonous species in the Balearic Islands, with potential for urbanization, which put the health of
humans and local species at risk as it is possible to modify the inter-specific relationships. In addition,
for the autochthonous species that are isolated, the urbanization supposes a loss of genetic diversity
making its evolution difficult. There may be changes in the ecology of parasitic diseases that increase
the risk of transmission and infection. Thus, studies are needed in the urban areas of the Balearic
Islands to determine the presence and prevalence of parasites in urbanized species and to establish
preventive and detection measures, as well as control of the species that act as reservoirs. |
