[spa] En las últimas décadas, la adopción de una dieta vegetariana como estilo de vida ha aumentado considerablemente en nuestra sociedad. Desde la Antigüedad, los alimentos de origen animal han formado parte de las dietas del ser humano, por ello, es importante investigar y analizar si una dieta exclusivamente de origen vegetal cubre todas las necesidades nutricionales para mantener un buen estado de salud en todas las etapas de la vida.
Objetivos: Conocer y analizar los riesgos y beneficios biopsicosociales que aporta la práctica de la dieta vegetariana en la mujer embarazada y el feto.
Metodología: Se lleva a cabo una revisión bibliográfica haciendo uso de los términos MeSH, en las bases de datos: PubMed y Science Direct y, en las revistas científicas: Scielo, Redalyc y Dialnet. Se obtienen como muestra 20 artículos científicos relacionados con las dietas vegetarianas durante el embarazo.
Resultados: Se ha demostrado que mantener una dieta de origen vegetal reduce el riesgo de ciertas enfermedades. No obstante, es importante proporcionar de manera equilibrada todos los nutrientes para evitar déficits y complicaciones en la salud de la madre y el feto.
Conclusiones: Las dietas vegetarianas nutricionalmente bien planificadas, se consideran beneficiosas para la salud en cualquier etapa de la vida, incluida la gestación.
[eng] In recent decades, the adoption of a vegetarian diet as a lifestyle has increased considerably in our society. Formely, animal provenance food has been part of the human diet, therefore, it is important to investigate and analyze if a diet exclusively of vegetable origin covers all the nutritional needs to maintain a good state of health in all stages of the life. Objective: Know and analyze the biopsychosocial risks and benefits provided by the practice of vegetarian diet in pregnant women and fetuses. Methodology: A literature review is carried out using the MeSH terms, in the databases: PubMed and Science Direct and, in the scientific journals: Scielo, Redalyc and Dialnet. 20 scientific articles related to vegetarian diets during pregnancy are obtained as a sample.
Results: It has been shown that maintaining a plant-based diet reduces the risk of certain diseases. However, it is important to provide all nutrients in a balanced manner to avoid deficits and complications of the mother and fetus health. Conclusions: Nutritionally well-planned vegetarian diets are considered beneficial for health at any stage of life, including pregnancy.
