[eng] The family context exerts great impact on the emotional and social development of the adolescents, considering that they learn to express and regulate emotions through interactions with family members. The aim of this research has been studying whether there is a relation-ship between the maladaptive strategies of cognitive emotion regulation (of mothers and ado-lescents) and the emotional variability given from the interaction of a mother-adolescent dyad in a situation focused on stressful content and negative affect. A total of 66 adolescents and their mothers participated in the study. They were evaluated through a questionnaire of cogni-tive emotional regulation and the emotions expressed by both participants during the negative or stressful interactions were objectively coded. The duration and the dispersion of the affec-tive repertoire rates were obtained to evaluate the emotional variability of the dyad (mother-adolescent). The obtained results exhibited a significant positive relationship between the self-blame and catastrophizing strategies (of mother and adolescents) and the emotional vari-ability or emotional flexibility of the dyad. |
