Estudi de l'anatomia del sistema sensorial i l'aparell bucal dels vectors del bacteri Xylella fastidiosa

[eng] Xylella fastidiosa is a bacterium that causes diseases associated with the obstruction of the xylem that affects a wide range of plant species. The main vector of this bacterium in the Balearic Islands is Philaenus spumarius, an hemipter of the Auchenorrhyncha sub-order. The oral apparatus of P. spumarius is specialized in the perforation of vegetal fibers to feed on the sap of the xylem and is made up of three main parts: stiletto, precibarium and cibarium. In this study, a morphometric analysis of the oral apparatus of P. spumarius was performed in the different stages of nymph (N1-N5) and adult. The differences between groups were determined by means of a Student T test. An anatomical study was also performed using electronic scanning microscopy to recognize the morphological changes of the oral apparatus through the different stages. It has been observed that the growth of the stiletto is carried out in stage N4, that of the precibarium in the N2, whereas the one of the face altogether, in the stages N2, N4 and N5. These results offer a new perspective in the study of the main vector of X. fastidiosa relating the development of its oral apparatus with the stages of growth.

[cat] Xylella fastidiosa és un bacteri causant de malalties associades a l’obstrucció del xilema que afecta un ampli ventall d’espècies vegetals. El principal vector d’aquest bacteri a les Illes Balears és Philaenus spumarius, un hemípter del sub-ordre Auchenorrhyncha. L’aparell bucal de P. spumarius està especialitzat en la perforació de fibres vegetals i està format per tres parts principals: estilet, precibarium i cibarium. En aquest estudi s’ha realitzat un anàlisi morfomètric de l’aparell bucal de P. spumarius en els diferents estadis de nimfa (N1-N5) i d’adult. Les diferències entre grups es varen determinar mitjançant un test T de Student. Es va realitzar també un estudi anatòmic mitjançant microscopia electrònica de rastreig per reconèixer els canvis morfològics de l’aparell bucal a través dels diferents estadis. S’ha observat que el creixement de l’estilet es duu a terme en l’estadi N4, el del precibarium en l’N2, mentre que el del rostre en conjunt, als estadis N2, N4 i N5. Aquests resultats ofereixen una nova perspectiva en l’estudi del principal vector de X. fastidiosa que relaciona el desenvolupament del seu aparell bucal amb els estadis de creixement.
