dc.description.abstract [eng] The article presents a biographical sketch of Bernardo de Oleza, doctor of law by the University of Bologna (1398) and Volumen Parvum lecturer in that center between 1399 and 1400, analyzing his role in the social ascension of his family. It is provided the transcription of his doctoral diploma, his Lecturer's contract, and two letters directed to a merchant from Prato to order the purchase of some books and to entrust the recovery of others given in pledge to his teacher, Dr. Bartolomeo da Saliceto, after paying off the debt that he had contracted with him.
