dc.description.abstract [eng] The aim of this paper is to explore the phonological development of two children with speech delay. It has been divided into three main parts. The first part deals with the L1 language acquisition and how a language develops during the first four years of a typically-developed child. Moreover, in this part, a brief explanation of the main language disorders is given in order to provide the reader with a basic knowledge of this area of linguistics. In the second part of the paper, a proper quantitative and qualitative analysis is developed from two cases of study. In these studies, two language samples from two English-speaking children have been collected in order to establish their phonological profiles. The final part concludes with a proper justification of the facts whether those children have a language disorder or not. ca
