Robert Mapplethorpe: Pedra Angular de l’art Queer

Abstract

[eng] Robert Mapplethorpe (1946-1989) was a photographer and American artist who stands out for his extensive and provocative work. Eroticism, body and nakedness treatment, sexuality, unique deaths and technical domination are distinctive features of its production. The present work works the biography and work of the artist in a context of repression and homosexual liberation in order to enhance their production in the current stream of the USA during the last decades of the 20th century.

L’erotisme, el tractament del cos i del nu, la sexualitat, les singulars natures mortes i el domini tècnic són trets diferenciadors de la seva producció. El present treball treballa la biografia i obra de l’artista situada en un context de repressió i alliberament homosexual a fi de posar en valor la seva producció dins la corrent queer als EUA durant les darreres dècades del segle XX.
