OBJECTIVES: Know the relationship between diet and colorectal cancer through the scientific literature.
BIBLIOGRAPHIC SEARCH STRATEGY: Search of scientific literature in the area of health sciences using databases such as PubMed, Medline, Scielo and databases of reviews such as Cochrane.
RESULTS: 22 articles selected in the scientific evidence through search engines such as pubmed, Medline, Scielo and Cochrane.
DISCUSSION: Evidence was found in the relationship between feeding habits and colorectal cancer. The scientific literature talks about foods that predispose to the development of this type of cancer and others that would act as preventive protectors for colorectal cancer.
CONCLUSSION: CRC (colorectal cancer) is one of the types of cancer with the highest incidence in recent years, the third most diagnosed cancer worldwide and the second leading cause of cancer-related death. A relationship between feeding and CRC is evident. On the one hand, we have preventive nutrients in relation to this type of cancer and on the other, foods or risk factors that predispose to the development of said cancer
