La visió compromesa de Josep Renau. Un estudi de la publicació en revistes culturals i les produccions del cartell polític (1925-1939)

Abstract

[cat] Estudiar a Josep Renau permet tenir en consideració l’exercici d’un paper polivalent i l’aportació d’una visió renovadora del panorama artístic espanyol. La seva postura incideix en la transformació de la situació artística a València, i posteriorment a tot l’Estat, així com en la reconsideració del paper de l’artista a favor de la pràctica revolucionària. És considerable el compromís adoptat en la pràctica política, des de la qual s’involucra en la realització d’un art subordinat al servei de la República i les causes socials, a més de ser el responsable en la tasca de salvaguarda de gran part del patrimoni artístic nacional a partir del seu càrrec institucional durant el període de la Guerra Civil (1936-1939). Tampoc passa desapercebuda la seva aportació teòrica, on ofereix una manera de testimoniar la nova situació en la qual es troben els artistes, immersos en un període de conflictivitat bèl·lica.

[eng] The figure of Josep Renau allows us to consider the exercise of a multipurpose role based on a renewing vision of the Spanish artistic scene. His perspective affects the transformation of the valencian artistic situation, as well as the reconsideration of the artist’s role in favor of the revolutionary practice. The commitment adopted in political practice is relevant, from which it undertakes to make an art for the Republic and to the service of the social causes, and also to being responsable in the task of safeguarding much of the national artístic heritage in starting from his institutional position during the period of the Civil War (1936-1939), as well as his theoretical contribution where it offers a way of witnessing the new difficult situation in which artists find themselves
