[spa] En la producción artística de Artemisia Gentileschi destaca la realización de pinturas en las que se representan temas heroicos protagonizados por mujeres. Uno de estos temas es Susana y los viejos. Muestra de ello es que la artista representara hasta cuatro versiones del relato bíblico. En concreto, es Susana y los viejos de 1610 la versión que ha recibido más atención por parte de la historiografía. A través del estudio de la obra, en concreto, de la vinculación con el maestro de la artista barroca (Orazio Gentileschi), los modelos visuales empleados, las diferentes versiones del tema o la recogida del cuadro en la bibliografía feminista es fundamental para entender la importancia de dicha obra dentro de la producción artística de Artemisia.

[eng] In Artemisia Gentileschi's artistic production, the making of paintings depicting heroic themes starring women stands out. One of these themes is Susanna and the Elders. Proof of this is that the artist represented up to four versions of the biblical story. Specifically, Susanna and the Elders painted in 1610 is the version that has received the most attention from historiography. Through the study of the work, specifically, the connection with the master of the baroque artist (Orazio Gentileschi), the visual models used, the different versions of the theme or the collection of the painting in the feminist bibliography is fundamental to understand the importance of this work within the artistic production of Artemisia.
