¿Cómo fomentar el comportamiento ecológico y/o cívico de los turistas en los establecimientos turísticos y en los espacios públicos en general dentro del contexto de las Illes Balears?

Abstract

[spa] La actividad turística tiene múltiples actores: turistas, empresarios hoteleros, empresarios de oferta complementaria, turoperadores, compañías de transporte, comerciantes y Administración. El camino hacia el turismo sostenible intentando encontrar el equilibrio entre la dimensión económica (la única que se ha contemplado y potenciado hasta ahora), la dimensión socio-cultural y la dimensión medioambiental, es responsabilidad de todos los actores. La obtención de beneficios por parte de empresarios debe tener un límite, la sostenibilidad medioambiental y la convivencia socio-cultural. La Administración debe regular de forma efectiva y planificar. En el presente trabajo se analiza, en el marco concreto de las Islas Baleares, los comportamientos incívicos y poco ecológicos de la actividad turística y la posible contribución de todos los actores para alcanzar la necesaria sostenibilidad. En los últimos años, la sociedad civil a través de sus declaraciones en prensa, empieza a exigir un cambio en esta dirección.

[eng] The tourist activity has many participants: tourists, hotel owners, complementary accommodation business owners, tour operators, transport companies, shopkeepers and the administration. The way to a sustainable tourism, trying to find the balance among the economical dimension (the only one that has been taken into account and promoted until now), the sociocultural dimension and the environmental dimension, is responsibility of all the participants. The business owners benefits should have a limit, the environmental sustainability and the sociocultural coexistence. The administration should effectively regulate and plan in advance. In this project, particularly related to the Balearic Islands, the uncivic and not much ecological behaviors of the touristic activity are analized, as well as the possible contribution of all participants to achieve the required sustainability. In recent years, the civil society is starting to demand a change in that direction, through media statements.
