Los determinantes de la duración de la estancia: Un análisis de los residentes en España

Abstract

[spa] El objetivo principal de este trabajo es encontrar y analizar los principales determinantes de la duración de estancia de los viajes que son motivados por el ocio y disfrute, centrándose únicamente en turistas que residen en España. Para tal fin se utilizará la encuesta FAMILITUR, esta encuesta tiene la singularidad de que los datos son obtenidos a través de encuestas realizadas en origen, es decir en el lugar de residencia del turista, el análisis se centrara en los viajes que tuvieron lugar durante el año 2019, se utilizara el modelo binomial negativo para calcular las estimaciones. Los resultados obtenidos indican que, a la hora de decidir el tiempo de estancia, las características económicas como son los ingresos de las familias, las características sociodemográficas como pueden ser la edad, el sexo o el nivel de estudios del turista, además de las características del propio destino como el tipo de alojamiento o el medio de transporte utilizado, condicionan el tiempo que el turista va a permanecer en el viaje, siendo el tipo de alojamiento, el medio de transporte utilizado, la fecha del viaje y principalmente el destino del viaje, los principales determinantes de la duración de estancia del turista que reside en España.

[eng] The main objective of this work is to find and analyse the main determinants of the length of stay of trips that are motivated by leisure and enjoyment, focusing only on tourists who reside in Spain. For this purpose, the FAMILITUR survey will be used. This survey has the singularity that the data is obtained through surveys carried out in origin, that is, in the tourist's place of residence, the analysis will be focused on the trips that took place during the year 2019, and the negative binomial model will be used to calculate the estimates. The results obtained indicate that, when deciding the length of stay, economic characteristics such as family income, sociodemographic characteristics such as the age, sex or level of studies of the tourist, as well as the characteristics of the destination itself such as the type of accommodation or the means of transport used, condition the time that the tourist will stay on the trip, with the type of accommodation, the means of transport used, the date of the trip and mainly the destination of the trip being the main determinants of the length of stay of the tourist who resides in Spain.
