De las Segundas Vanguardias Artísticas a la Posmodernidad: el papel del galerista dentro del sistema del arte contemporáneo

Abstract

[spa] El presente trabajo analiza la figura del galerista en el contexto de las Segundas Vanguardias históricas y la consolidación de su papel dentro del sistema del arte a partir de 1945 hasta la llegada de la posmodernidad. Para ello, se ha hecho una primera aproximación al sistema del arte contemporáneo y los agentes implicados. A continuación, el estudio se centra en las galerías de arte, considerando sus antecedentes en primer lugar, analizando la evolución desde el concepto de mecenas hasta el de galerista, y finalmente destacando las figuras más importantes de dicho periodo, tanto en Estados Unidos como en Europa, centrándose en Francia e Italia.

[eng] This study analyses the role of the gallery owner in the context of the Second Avant-gardes and their consolidation in the art system from 1945 up to the onset of postmodernism. For this purpose, an initial approximation to the Contemporary Art System and the agents involved was carried out. The study then focuses on art galleries, considering first their background and track record, analysing the development from patron and dealer to that of gallery owner, and finally highlighting the most important figures from that period, both in the United States and in Europe, focusing on France and Italy.
