Las altas capacidades intelectuales y los trastornos mentales en niños y adolescentes. ¿Factor de riesgo o protección?

Abstract

[spa] El estudio de las Altas Capacidades Intelectuales (AA.CC.) ha supuesto un tópico controvertido al largo de los años y la visión que se ha tenido de este históricamente ha llegado a ser tanto negativa como positiva y el debate respecto a si las AA.CC. suponen un factor negativo o positivo de cara a la salud mental sigue siendo un tema de interés sin resolver. Gracias a los avances en los estudios de la inteligencia y el campo de las AA.CC., a día de hoy tenemos un conocimiento exponencialmente más extenso que hace siglos, pero aún pese a esto, esta incógnita parece que sigue sin poder ser resuelta de forma clara y concisa. En esta revisión bibliográfica se intentará dar una visión general de la historia reciente de las altas AA.CC. y de la visión actual, los avances que han conseguido las investigaciones hasta la fecha, las limitaciones que tienen en común estas investigaciones a día de hoy y las futuras recomendaciones.

[eng] The study of giftedness has been a controversial topic throughout the years and the vision they have had historically has been both positive and negative and the debate on whether giftedness supposes a positive or negative factor towards mental health is still an interesting debate yet to be resolved. Thanks to the advances in the study of intelligence and the area of giftedness, today we have an exponentially larger knowledge compared to centuries ago but even taking this into account, this question seems yet to be resolved in a clear and concise manner. In this bibliographic revision we will try to give a general vision on the recent history of giftedness and the actual vision, the advances achieved by investigations to this day, the common limitations these investigations have in common and the future recommendations.
