[eng] In this thesis I have developed a new framework to analyse
changes in the gross sales per pax or average service rate
(ASR) metric in the beyond the bed (BTB) business unit at
a multinational bedbank named Hotelbeds. The proposed
analysis contributes to understanding the ASR by quantifying its change in readily understandable effects that can be
easily reported. In this way, the analysis helps to explain
past behaviour and forecast future impacts, which provides
more confidence and clarity to decision-makers in the company. Moreover, I described in detail how the framework can
be implemented from a technical point of view by building
a pipeline using a combination of SQL and Python. I also
created suitable visualizations in Tableau and interpreted the
results. The visualizations have demonstrated the usefulness
of this analysis as it resulted in several insightful, new conclusions about the current situation of the business.
