The experimental group is composed of people with schizophrenia from a Psychiatric Hospital (n=11, m=49,63) and the control group is composed of healthy people (n=11, m=49,63). It was used a facial recognition test with four types of emotion (happy, sad, angry, neutral). The results showed a higher number of errors in the identification of emotions in people with schizophrenia as well as a higher Reaction Time (RT); specifically, a significant difference in these two variables (accuracy and RT) was seen in the neutral type of emotion. Similarly, a better RT in the emotion of joy compared to the other emotions in the experimental group. This field should be explored in more depth, since these deficits pose a serious problem of social and occupational functioning - among others - for people with schizophrenia.
