¿Aporta la hipoterapia beneficios en la conducta de los niños con trastorno del espectro autista que la realizan?

[spa] Objetivo: demostrar los beneficios de la hipoterapia en la conducta de los niños con trastornos del espectro autista (TEA) frente a niños con TEA que no realizan hipoterapia a través de una revisión de la literatura científica. Material y método: se realiza una revisión de la literatura disponible consultando las siguientes bases de datos: Pubmed, biblioteca virtual de la salud (BVS), Cochrane, Índice acumulativo de literatura sobre enfermería y salud (CINAHL), PsycINFO y Literatura latinoamericana y del Caribe en ciencias de la salud (Lilacs), utilizando las palabras clave: Equine-Assisted Therapy y Autism Spectrum Disorder, aplicando un filtro de los últimos diez años y en cualquier idioma. Resultados: una vez concluida la búsqueda y tras la aplicación de los criterios de inclusión y exclusión y la eliminación de artículos repetidos se analizan 19 artículos, donde predominan los estudios experimentales, en concreto casos y controles. Conclusión: la hipoterapia constituye una alternativa viable y eficaz en el manejo rehabilitador de estos niños en comparación a los niños que no la realizan. Entre sus beneficios, los que más se repiten son la mejora en la socialización, la comunicación, la concentración para realizar tareas, aumento de la estabilidad postural, reducción de las conductas agresivas y mejora del estado de ánimo.

[eng] Objective: The main objective of this study is to demonstrate the benefits of hippotherapy to the conduct of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) by comparing them with children with ASD who are not treated with this therapy through a review of scientific literature. Materials and methodology: A review of the available literature is made by consulting the following databases: PubMed, Virtual Health Library (VHL), Cochrane, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), PsycINFO and Latin american and Caribbean health sciences literature (Lilacs), using the “Equine-Assisted Therapy” and “Autism Spectrum Disorder” keywords, and limiting the search results to studies over the past ten years in any language. Results: Once the research is completed and after the application of the criteria of inclusion and exclusion and the omission of repeated items, 19 articles are analysed, with a predominant focus on those containing experimental approaches; case and control studies in particular. Conclusion: Hippotherapy is shown to be a viable and effective alternative in the rehabilitation programs of autistic children who are treated with it in contrast to those who are not. Among its benefits, the most common ones are the improvement in socialization, communication and concentration to perform tasks, the increase in postural stability, the reduction in aggressive behaviour and the improvement in the state of mind.
