La renovació iconogràfica de la maternitat en Frida Kahlo, Tarsila do Amaral, Débora Arango i Aurora Reyes

Abstract

[cat] Frida Kahlo, Tarsila do Amaral, Débora Arango i Aurora Reyes són dones artistes que protagonitzen la renovació iconogràfica de la maternitat en la primera meitat del segle XX. A través de la seva ideologia marxista, es desprenen de la representació religiosa i idealitzada de la maternitat que havia interpretat històricament l’artista masculí. Entenen la maternitat com un cicle social i cultural vinculat a la dona amb una sèrie de dificultats per poder compaginar art i maternitat. Des dels seus respectius contextos polítics, reivindiquen la representació de temàtiques com donar a llum i l’avortament, l’alletament matern, la frustració generada per la impossibilitat de ser mare i el seu paper actiu en la Revolució, a través del seu cos com a llenç expressiu.

[eng] Frida Kahlo, Tarsila do Amaral, Débora Arango and Aurora Reyes are women artists involved in the iconographic renewal of motherhood in the first half of the twentieth century. Through their marxist ideology, they detach themselves from the religious and idealized representation of the motherhood that male artists had historically played. They understand motherhood as a social and cultural cycle linked to women with some difficulties to combine art and motherhood. In their respective political contexts, they claim the representation of subjects such as childbirth and abortion, breastfeeding, the frustration generated by the impossibility of being a mother and her active role in the Revolution, through his body as an expressive canvas.
