La influencia de la telesalud en el empoderamiento del paciente durante la pandemia del COVID-19

[spa] Introducción: En 2020 se identificó un nuevo virus, COVID-19, y se declaró una pandemia a nivel mundial, que supuso una limitación de la interacción y la imposición de distanciamiento social. Gracias a la transformación digital global, los sistemas de salud de todo el mundo implantaron la telesalud, que surgió como medida para garantizar la seguridad del paciente y del profesional sanitario. Sería interesante ver la satisfacción del paciente con respecto a la telesalud durante la pandemia, ya que se podría relacionar con la adherencia, y ésta a su vez, con un paciente más autónomo. Objetivo: El objetivo principal es descubrir en qué medida la telesalud contribuyó en que el paciente fuera más activo o empoderado durante la pandemia del COVID-19. Métodos: Se realizaron diversas búsquedas en las bases de datos PubMed, PEDro y Cochrane, incluyendo artículos publicados en los últimos 5 años y a texto completo, entre noviembre de 2021 y febrero de 2022. Resultados: Se hallaron 41 artículos y, según los criterios de inclusión-exclusión, se seleccionaron 20 artículos que estudiasen el manejo de la telesalud durante la pandemia del COVID-19. Sólo un artículo mencionó directamente el empoderamiento por parte del paciente tras someterse a telesalud. Sin embargo, muchos de ellos mencionaban la satisfacción del paciente frente a la telesalud y la adherencia a la misma. Conclusión: No hay suficientes estudios que establezcan que la telesalud provoque que el paciente sea más activo o que lo empodere. Se necesitan más estudios para hallar una evidencia que lo sustente.

[eng] Introduction: In 2020, a new virus, COVID-19, was identified and a global pandemic was declared, which led to a limitation of interaction and the imposition of social distancing. Thanks to the global digital transformation, health systems around the world have implemented telehealth, which emerged as a measure to guarantee the safety of the patient and the health professional. It would be interesting to see patient satisfaction regarding telehealth during the pandemic, since it could be related to adherence, and this, in turn, to a more autonomous patient. Objective: The main objective is to discover to what extent telehealth contributed to the patient being more active or empowered during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Various searches were performed in the PubMed, PEDro and Cochrane databases, including articles published in the last 5 years and in full text, between November 2021 and February 2022. Results: 41 articles were found and, according to the inclusión-exclusion criteria, 20 articles that studied the management of telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic were selected. Only one article mentioned patient improvement after undergoing telehealth. However, many of them mentioned patient satisfaction with telehealth and adherence to it. Conclusion: There are not enough studies that establish that telehealth causes the patient to be more active or empowers them. More studies are needed to find supporting evidence.
