grans temàtiques: infants, família, TIC i internet, i el control parental. Amb
ús sa d’aquestes eines tecnològiques i internet.
[eng] New information and communication technologies, together with the internet, are
part of people's lives, and are becoming more and more present. Today,
children's daily exposure to screens is visible and in some cases a concern for
the health and general well-being of children. There are a large number of studies
on this topic in reference to adolescence and youth, however, more research is
needed to examine the repercussions that screen exposure has on children and
the lack of parental control. Based on this, it is necessary to reflect on the new
demands posed by this situation and act accordingly.
With a broad theoretical framework, this work is based on a qualitative research
of a phenomenological nature because it aims to investigate from the perceptions
and family actions around the subject. This research is based on four main topics:
children, the family, ICT and the Internet, and parental control. In order to analyze
family perceptions of ICT, the Internet and parental control in early childhood (0-
8 years). The results indicate the lack of knowledge of parents about parental
control, the ease of access of children to different technological devices, the
importance that adults give to content in English, the effect of COVID-19 on the
use of screens, parental concerns about time in front of the screen, the different
perceptions (rejection, fear, attraction) of parents about their children's use of ICT
and the Internet, parental comfort around the use of screens and children, the
presence of behavioral and emotional problems, the dependence of adults on the
mobile phone in front of minors, the detection of poor technological skills of
parents, and finally, the influence of family structure in terms of children's use of
screens. Therefore, the need to inform and train parents about parental control is
evident, in order to be able to respond more effectively to the different demands
and needs of children regarding the use of screens. As well as providing children
with learning about the healthy use of these technological tools and the Internet.
