[eng] This paper addresses the trajectory of women in the Spanish and European
labour market, from their introduction to their current position. The contribution of
women in the labour market is analysed through the study of activity,
employment, and unemployment, using tables and graphics generated with data
from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) and Eurostat.
Therefore, the existing gender inequality in the labour market is demonstrated,
causing discrimination such as the wage gap, the glass ceiling or the difficulties
of reconciling family and work, studying the impact that these have had on the
position of women in the labour market from their entry to the present day.
Similarly, there is a review of the employment policies and laws adopted in favour
of gender equality, which have gradually created a much more egalitarian working
environment.
In addition, an econometric analysis is also made, with the aim of generating
indices that can explain the profile of current working women in Spain, using data
from the Labour Force Survey (INE) of 2020.
