Gender Violence in Spain. Women victims of gender-based abuse can experience
several consequences apart from physical damage, such as post-traumatic stress
disorder. Articles and studies that have been carried about PTSD will be reviewed in
order to know the different possible treatments with more scientific evidence. The
practices that have been effective and the positive and possible drawbacks of such
therapies will be assessed and evaluated. According to the review carried out in the
present work, the cognitive-behavioral treatment, followed by the EMDR technique, is
the one that has shown the most efficacy in post-traumatic stress in cases of gender
violence.
