Comportamiento de los residuos en Palma de Malloca

[spa] El objetivo de este estudio es investigar hasta qué punto difiere el comportamiento de eliminación de residuos de los turistas y los residentes en Palma de Mallorca. Para responder a la pregunta de investigación, se realizó una encuesta cuantitativa sobre el comportamiento de eliminación de residuos dirigida a los turistas internacionales y a los residentes del 04 de abril de 2022 al 24 de abril de 2022 en Palma de Mallorca. La encuesta cuantitativa mostró que los residentes reciclan sus residuos de forma más responsable que los turistas. Sin embargo, a muchos de los residentes no les resulta fácil dividir sus residuos en todas las secciones disponibles. Los turistas, por su parte, prestan más atención a su consumo de residuos que los residentes. El comportamiento de los turistas y los residentes puede explicarse mediante la teoría de la elección racional, que se centra en la relación coste- beneficio. Esto demuestra que tanto los turistas como los residentes son un factor problemático en el debate sobre la elevada aparición de residuos y el escaso reciclaje como consecuencia de una incorrecta separación de los mismos. Para ambas partes, deben desarrollarse soluciones para aliviar la situación de los residuos en la ciudad de Palma de Mallorca. De este modo, la ciudad podría dar un paso más hacia la sostenibilidad.

[eng] The aim of this paper is to investigate to what extent the waste disposal behavior of tourists and residents in Palma de Mallorca differs. In order to answer the research question, a quantitative survey on waste disposal behavior was conducted, targeting international tourists and residents, from the 04th of April 2022 until the 24th of April 2022 in Palma de Mallorca. The quantitative survey showed that residents recycle their waste more responsibly than tourists. Nevertheless, many of the residents do not find it easy to divide their garbage into all the available sections. Tourists, on the other hand, pay more attention to their waste consumption than residents. The behavior of tourists and residents can be explained using the rational-choice theory, which focuses on a cost- benefit trade-off. This shows that both tourists and residents are a problem factor in the debate about high waste occurrence and poor recycling, as a result of incorrect waste separation. For both parties, solutions should be developed to alleviate the waste situation in the city of Palma de Mallorca. Thus, the city could take another step towards sustainability.
