universal necessi ty , and people with
barriers to travel have the same demands and need t o be taken into serious
consideration. T his p aper adopts a literature review of the hi story and current
situa tion of the development of accessible tourism in Spain as a w hole. Taking
Palma, a top tourist destination in Spain, as a ca se study, the paper inv estigates
the situation of accessible t o urism facilities i n Palma through a combinatio n of
field survey and q uestionnaire analysis, and focuses on the elderly, disabled a nd
mother and baby groups to evaluate their experience of acces sible tourism
facilitie s in Palma. Based on this, the experien c es an d problems of the
development of accessib le tourism in Palma are discussed, and some
improvement measures are proposed.
