[cat] El període comprès entre els anys 1992 i 2008, coincidint amb el canvi de segle, fou decisiu pel creixement del turisme sexual a l’illa de Mallorca. Aquesta activitat tingué una gran importància tant per a l’economia com per a la societat del territori i és per això que es fa necessari tractar el tema des d’una perspectiva històrica a través d’una evolució del mateix. A través de la publicitat als diaris i internet, l’explicació dels canvis soferts i l’exposició de les tipologies dins l’àmbit del sexe venal es consolida aquest discurs.

[eng] The period between 1992 and 2008, coinciding with the turn of the century, was crucial for the growth of sex tourism on the island of Mallorca. This activity was of great importance for both the economy and the society of the territory and that is why it is necessary to address the issue from a historical perspective through an evolution of it. This discourse is consolidated through newspaper and internet advertising, the explanation of the changes undergone and the exposition of the typologies within the field of venal sex.
