La pluralidad religiosa de Ámsterdam a través de algunos retratos de Rembrandt van Rijn

[spa] Los retratos constituyen un documento histórico fundamental en cuanto al conocimiento sociocultural de una época. En el comúnmente conocido como Siglo de Oro neerlandés encontramos como este género pictórico entra en auge gracias al enriquecimiento de la clase mercantil, permitiéndonos conocer mejor de manera visual la sociedad de la época. Rembrandt van Rijn fue uno de los principales retratistas en la ciudad de Ámsterdam durante las décadas de 1630 y 1640, inmortalizando a personas de diferentes culturas y rangos sociales. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el tema de la pluralidad religiosa en la ciudad de Ámsterdam a partir de los retratos del predicador menonita Cornelis Claesz Anslo y su mujer Aeltje Gerritsdr. Schouten, el retrato del médico sefardí Ephraim Bueno y el del predicador remonstrante Johannes Wtenbogaert.

[eng] Portraits are an essential historical document in terms of socio-cultural knowledge of an era. In the period commonly known as the Dutch Golden Age, this genre of portraiture flourished as a result of the enrichment of the merchant class, allowing us to gain a visual insight into the society of the time. Rembrandt van Rijn was one of the main portrait painters in the city of Amsterdam during the 1630s and 1640s, immortalising people from different cultures and social classes. The aim of this paper is to analyse the theme of religious plurality in the city of Amsterdam through the portraits of the Mennonite preacher Cornelis Claesz Anslo and his wife Aeltje Gerritsdr. Schouten, the portrait of the Sephardic physician Ephraim Bueno and the portrait of the Remonstrant preacher Johannes Wtenbogaert.
