Amnesia histórica y turismo 2.0: El Holocausto

Abstract

[spa] El objetivo del presente trabajo es exponer las definiciones básicas de los modelos de turismo de memoria, el turismo oscuro y el tanaturismo. Para introducir posteriormente la reflexión entre la relación de los lugares de memoria, el turismo y la ética es necesaria una contextualización de estos. Para ello, nos basaremos en la memoria del Holocausto como ejemplo de memoria traumática y más concretamente, en Auschwitz como paradigma a nivel histórico y turístico. Se presentarán algunos de los debates existentes relacionados con los procesos de “turistización”, la conversión de un espacio de memoria en turístico, y, en este caso, de las memorias traumáticas, la transmisión de valores, el negacionismo y la recepción de la memoria traumática del lugar.

[eng] The aim of this Final Degree Project is the exposition of the memory’s tourism types as Dark Tourism and Thanatourism. To create an environment of reflection between these types of places and the generated tourism and the ongoing motivation is necessary the context and the history that it involves. We will focus our attention on the Holocaust’s memory as the best example of traumatic memory and concretely we will analyse Auschwitz as historic and touristic fact. The massification in this type of locations and the conversion of a memorial place to a touristic one will be presented in this thesis as well as the values, the negationism and the behaviour related to these visits.
