dc.description.abstract [eng] Social media has become part of society’s daily life for communicative ends. However, with time, these platforms have gained other purposes such as teaching and learning languages. This paper analyzes the increasing use of technology and social media in education, the cooperative learning technique and the task-based approach together with the relevance of motivation. In particular, it focuses on the use of Instagram as an in-class high school tool for English language learning. In order to test the usefulness of Instagram in the EFL classroom, a didactic proposal was designed. The main aim of this study was to examine whether the creation of posts on Instagram and the autonomous work that it involved could help the participants to better comprehend and consolidate the content of the subject. The results confirmed that the use of Instagram as a learning tool can be beneficial for English language instruction. ca
