resistent a meticil·lina (SARM).
exsudats i mostres respiratòries.
sensibilitat a vancomicina, daptomicina i linezolid.
[eng] Staphylococcus aureus is a pathogen that causes a wide variety of clinical infections
such as bacteremia, soft tissue infections, osteoarticular and pulmonary infections.
These infections get complicated when the strain responsible is resistant to methicillin,
making treatment difficult. Cases are mainly detected in the hospital, but its epidemiology
has varied as it spreads to the community. A retrospective study was carried out on the
cases diagnosed with S. aureus infections in the hospitals of the Juaneda Group during
2021 to study its epidemiology. The data of 239 isolates were retrieved, to identify their
incidence, analyse the antibiotic susceptibility and detect cases of methicillin-resistant S.
aureus (MRSA). A higher incidence of the pathogen was identified in exudates and
respiratory samples. Sensitivity profiles to various types of antibiotics showed a low
prevalence of MRSA during the period studied. Antibiotic resistance was higher in the
group of MRSA isolates than in sensitive isolates, but both presented a common
resistance to macrolides and a high sensitivity to vancomycin, daptomycin and linezolid.
Notably, the incidence of cases of infections of community origin was higher than those
of hospital origin. It will be important to include annual studies of this type to control the
evolution of the pathogen.
