[eng] With this study we want to demonstrate the importance of cultural resources in the beginnings of tourism in the Balearic Islands through the research of tourist materials that were published between the end of the 19th century and the middle of the 20th century. Both in the present and in the past, heritage assets have been a major tourist attraction, which is why an entire industry has been built around these assets. Although this economic activity arrived in Spain later than in other European countries, it soon began to welcome the first tourists and offer them the tourist services. The same happens if we focus on the Balearic Islands and especially Mallorca, which was the pioneer island in receiving tourists. At the end of the 19th century, the island hosted a large number of artists who traveled to discover our heritage resources and make them known through their works. The Cathedral of Mallorca, the Cartoixa of Valldemossa and the Llotja of Palma are some examples of the architectural works most valued by these first travelers
