El pes del sector turístic a les illes balears després de la gran recessió

Abstract

[cat] L’economia de les Illes Balears es caracteritza per tenir una alta especialització en el sector serveis per sobre de la resta de comunitats autònomes i la mitjana estatal. El sector turístic es l’activitat econòmica que aporta un major pes al producte interior brut de les Illes Balears. La importància del turisme a les Illes Balears és innegable, transformant el paisatge, les zones costaneres, els nuclis urbans i la manera de viure dels seus residents. Aquest treball pretén estudiar els canvis en el pes del sector turístic de les Illes Balears i el seu comportament abans de la Gran Recessió i després. Analitzant tant des de una perspectiva macroeconòmica (PIB, ocupació, ...) i tant des de una perspectiva microeconòmica ( despesa turística, els gustos del consumidor, ...), sense oblidar com s’interrelacionen entre elles, el sector públic i el medi ambient.

[eng] The economy of the Balearic Islands is characterized by a high specialization in the services sector above the rest of the autonomous communities and the state average. The tourism sector is the economic activity that contributes more weight to the gross domestic product of the Balearic Islands. The importance of tourism in the Balearic Islands is undeniable, transforming the landscape, coastal areas, urban centers and the way of life of its residents. This paper aims to study the changes in the weight of the tourism sector in the Balearic Islands and their behavior before the Great Recession and after. Analyzing both from a macroeconomic perspective (GDP, employment, ...) and both from a microeconomic perspective (tourist spending, consumer tastes, ...), without forgetting how they interrelate with each other, the public sector and the environment.
