José Luis López-Aranguren: democracia, moral, juventud y educación universitaria

Abstract

El presente artículo persigue poner de manifiesto, desde la perspectiva cívica y moral, una parte del discurso educacional de José Luis López-Aranguren. En particular, presento su visión de futuro sobre la universidad española del último tercio del siglo XX y su relación con las demandas que la juventud de su tiempo estaba planteando. En este sentido, Aranguren entendía que una universidad renovada y atenta a los problemas sociales podría contribuir activamente a conseguir los cambios necesarios que pusieran a España en el camino de la democracia como forma moral de vida; una universidad comprometida con los problemas de su tiempo y con las inquietudes de los jóvenes del momento. This article seeks to reveal, from a civic and moral point of view, some of José Luis Lopez-Aranguren's work on education. Notably, the author lays out his vision of the future of the Spanish university in the last thirty years of the 20th century and its relation to the demands that the youth of his time were making.
