Els retrats i les representacions iconogràfiques de l’emperador Tiberi en l’art romà

Abstract

[cat] En el present treball s’analitza la representació iconogràfica de l’emperador Tiberi dins el món romà a través d’una selecció d’obres d’art. S’analitzen els retrats de Tiberi que evolucionen des de la seva semblança fisonòmica amb August fins a donar lloc a un retrat més singular i madur. A més, es fa una distinció entre els models iconogràfics de representació de Tiberi que el mostren com a: militar triomfal i com a personatge capacitat per aportar victòries a Roma, acompanyat de la seva família i com a membre de la dinastia Julioclàudia, com a Pontífex Màxim i com a emperador divinitzat. Tota la informació s’articula seguint l’eix cronològic de la vida i obres de Tiberi i de les representacions pòstumes.

[eng] In the present work, the iconographic representation of the emperor Tiberius in the Roman world is analyzed through a selection of works of art. We analyze the portraits of Tiberius that evolve from his physiognomic resemblance to Augustus to give rise to a more singular and mature portrait. In addition, a distinction is made between the iconographic models of representation of Tiberius that show him as: a triumphant military man and as a character capable of bringing victories to Rome, accompanied by his family and as a member of the Julio-Claudian dynasty, as Pontifex Maximus and as deified emperor. All the information is articulated following the chronological axis of Tiberius' life and works and posthumous representations.
