[eng] Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), an aggressive tumor derived from bile duct epithelial cells, is commonly
associated with late diagnosis and high mortality rate. Aiming to improve CCA detection, we propose
extracellular vesicle-derived RNA from bile duct lavage fluid, collected during endoscopic retrograde
cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), as a novel source of biomarkers. Our study revealed CKS1B and
miRNAs hsa-miR-762 and hsa-miR-191-5p as potential diagnostic biomarkers that could improve early
CCA detection. Additionally, we proposed the gene signatures PAEP/OPN1SW and CCDC126/TFF1 as
prognostic markers. These discoveries could significantly improve cholangiocarcinoma diagnosis,
provide valuable prognosis prediction, and guide treatment strategies. |
