Situació educativa de les persones sordes de les Balears i el seu impacte en el món laboral: una aproximació

[cat] L’educació de les persones sordes i com aquesta pot afectar a l’accés al món laboral és un camp poc estudiat en general i gairebé gens a la nostra Comunitat Autònoma. És per aquest motiu que el present estudi explora la situació educativa i laboral de les persones sordes al territori de les Illes Balears. S’han entrevistat 10 persones sordes pre-locutives. Les entrevistes s’han realitzat en llengua de signes. Els resultats obtinguts en aquest estudi apunten a un greu problema d’accés a la formació postobligatòria. A més a més, la majoria de persones entrevistades declara no dominar la lectoescriptura. Aquestes dades suggereixen que tant el domini de la lectoescriptura com l’accés a la formació són factors que limiten el desenvolupament personal de les persones sordes en general i el seu accés al món laboral en particular. A partir d’aquests resultats, es proposa fer una revisió dels models i suports educatius que s’ofereixen a l’alumnat sord des de les institucions educatives d’aquestes illes per tal d’assegurar que es faci efectiu el seu dret a una educació inclusiva, que repercutirà positivament en la seva formació i opcions laborals.

[eng] The education of deaf people and how it affects the access to the labor market is a field that has not been studied in general and almost not at all in our Autonomous Community. For this reason, this study explores the educational and employment situation of deaf people in the territory of the Balearic Islands. Ten prelingually deaf people were interviewed in this study, and the interviews were conducted in sign language. The results obtained in this study point to a serious problem of access to postcompulsory education. In addition, the majority of people interviewed stated that they do not master reading and writing skills. These data suggest that both literacy and access to training are factors that limit the personal development of deaf people in general and their access to the world of work in particular. Based on these results, it is proposed to carry out a review of the educational models and support offered to deaf students from the educational institutions of the Balearic Islands to ensure that their right to an inclusive education is made effective, which will have a positive impact on their education and job options.
