[eng] This dissertation aims to explore the effectiveness of utilizing poster design
projects as a means to enhance speaking skills among first year ESO students.
Several studies support the use of Project-based Learning as an effective
methodology to promote real interactions among the students, as it gives them
a real reason to talk to each other in order to reach a common objective. Apart
from this, many authors claim Cooperative Learning is pivotal in nowadays
context as it promotes a context where key competences can be worked. Taking
into account the literature revision, this paper proposes a didactic framework to
be developed in a first of ESO class. Ten sessions have been developed and
described step by step. Students are tasked with designing posters on amazing
animals, presenting them to their peers, and receiving feedback. The focus lies
on improving students' speaking abilities while engaging them in a creative and
informative activity. Apart from developing the students’ speaking skills, the
activities promote peer and self-reflection, which are essential in the learning
process. Materials to support the activities were also created and included as
appendices at the end of this paper.
