[eng] The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of alcohol consumption at a macroparty on the
circadian rhythms of activity and temperature on some university students. Another objective is to
examine the differences that can be found after alcohol consumption between one group that drinks
high quantities of alcohol(>1g alcohol/1L blood) and another group with a low intake of alcohol (<1g
alcohol/1L blood).
In order to evaluate these rhythms and activity sensor and a temperature sensor have been used. The
activity sensor was placed on the non-dominant arm and temperature sensor, which registered the
peripheral temperature was placed on the non-dominant wrist. This data was registered over a period d
12 days, 5 of which are before the party and 7 of which are after the alcohol consumption that took
place at the party.
Moreover, the volunteers have passed some tests in order to try to examine the chronotype of the
students, the quality of their sleep and their stress levels.
From the results we can observe proof that alcohol has a negative effect on the circadian rhythm, both
activity and temperature. Furthermore, the circadian rhythm is greatly affected by those who have a
greater intake of alcohol.
In conclusion, the study carried out shows that larges quantities of alcohol in blood have negative
effects on the circadian system. Of the two rhythms object of the study, the activity rhythm is one that
has been more affected by the intake alcohol.
