Análisis del impacto socioeconómico del turismo de cruceros en el puerto de Palma: Comparativa entre puerto base y tránsito, y el estudio de la percepción de la demanda

Abstract

El puerto de Palma funciona tanto como puerto base como tránsito , e xistiendo así diferencias y similitudes destacables entre las operativas. La cadena de valor que envuelve la industria de cruceros que recibe dicho puerto está compuesta por la oferta (servicios y personal en tierra, excursiones, transportes, infraestructu ras, etc) y la demanda (cruceristas). En este trabajo se analiza mediante una revisión literaria y una encuesta in situ en el puerto de Palma, la comparativa entre el uso del puerto como base y tránsito, los impactos socioeconómicos de l a actividad de cru ceros, la oferta y la percepción de la demanda. El análisis conjunto de estos elementos permite conocer los impactos negativos y positivos que afectan al destino de Palma. Posibilitando así mediante previsiones, estimar costes y beneficios futuros entre cr uceros que usan el puerto de Palma como base o tránsito, el comportamiento de la demanda y el impacto socioeconómico que provoca en Palma la oferta implícita y explícita a los cruceristas.

The port of Palma functions as both a base and a transit port, so there are significant differences and similarities between the operations. The value chain that surrounds the cruise industry that receives such port is made up of the offer (services and personnel on land, excursions, transport, infrastructures, etc.) and the demand (cruisers). In this work, a comparative analysis of the use of the port as a base and transit, the socioeconomic impacts of the cruise activity, the sup ply and the perception of the demand are analyzed by means of a literary review and an in situ survey in the port of Palma. The joint analysis of these elements allows to know the negative and positive impacts that affect the destination of Palma. Thus, by means of forecasts, to estimate future costs and benefits between cruises that use the port of Palma as base or transit, the behavior of the demand and the socioeconomic impact that causes in Palma the implicit and explicit offer to cruise passengers.
