La estacionalidad turística a les Illes Balears

[spa] El turismo juega un papel esencial en la economía balear. El modelo turístico por excelencia instaurado en Baleares es el de “sol y playa”, este modelo conlleva un problema asociado: la gran estacionalidad. El grueso de la actividad se concentra durante los meses de verano y es casi inexistente durante el inverno. Esta situación pone en evidencia la necesidad de recurrir a nuevos productos turísticos para poder establecer un modelo turístico que sea viable a medio y largo plazo. Una opción muy interesante como herramienta para desestacionalizar es el cicloturismo. Su máxima actividad se produce durante los meses previos a la campaña de verano lo que permite una apertura anticipada de los establecimientos hoteleros favoreciendo a todo la actividad empresarial durante estos meses. Además es un turismo respetuoso con el medio ambiente, ya que el deporte juega un papel muy importante.

[eng] Tourism plays an essential role in the Balearic economy. The tourism model established in Baleares is "sun and beach"; this model has a problem and is associated with the great seasonality. The big part of the activity is concentrated during the summer months and is almost nonexistent during the winter. This situation demonstrates the necessity of create new tourism products in order to establish a tourism model that is viable in the medium and long term. A very interesting against the seasonal variation is the cyclotourism; due to his maximum activity is during the months before the summer campaign what allows an early opening of the hotel establishments favoring the economic activity during these months. In addition it is a respectful tourism with the environment.
