justa i assequible.
[eng] The FAO defines sustainable diets based on different dependent elements of
sustainability that are equally important; sustainable diets must be on the one hand
healthy, the natural resources consumption must be optimized and environmentally
respectful, and on the other hand they should preserve biodiversity, be economically
fair, acceptable, and affordable by each individual. Scientific research shows that the
Mediterranean dietary pattern is an example of sustainable dietary pattern in a broad
sense and theoretically. However, more scientific evidence and research is needed in the
implementation of sustainable diets in practice. The following thesis is a protocol on
health research, its aim is to analyze diet’s sustainability in terms of health,
environment, economics and culture of different real examples of Mediterranean diet
conducted by subjects from PredimedPLUS- essay – recruiting group of University of
Balearic Islands-. The tools used for the analysis of the chosen diets have already been
used and verified by other scientific research groups in the same field of study.
