[eng] The present thesis aims to show that restorative circles are a powerful tool not
only to create a good climate in the classroom, but also to resolve conflicts.
This restorative practice may be considered an evolution of school mediation.
Despite having common features, restorative circles not only offer the possibility
of repairing the damage caused by conflicts, but also contribute to restoring the
affected relationships and encourage the involvement of all the members of the
school community.
Currently, a few schools in Ibiza have received training in this innovative
methodology. However, only three of them are secondary schools.
In spite of restorative practices being well accepted by the school community, at
present, there is no Govern de les Illes Balears legislation that regulates them.
Therefore, this thesis proposes the regulation of restorative circles as a conflict
resolution method.
