Estudi morfomètric de poblacions de l'aritja (Smilax aspera L.) de l'illa de Mallorca

[cat] Quantificar i comprendre les causes de la diferenciació poblacional en plantes és fonamental per avaluar l'estructura taxonòmica de les espècies. Utilitzant enfocaments morfomètrics geomètrics i lineals, es va investigar la variació fenotípica i les associacions entre els trets de les fulles en Smilax aspera L.var. aspera i l’endèmic balear Smilax aspera L. var. balearica Willk., que són dues varietats subordinades a l’espècie Smilax aspera L. que presenta una gran variabilitat de la forma i mida de les fulles. També es van analitzar altres trets diferencials entre les dues varietats com són la gruixa de la tija i l’abundància d’espines. Els resultats morfomètrics mostren que ambdos taxons presenten diferents patrons de variació de la forma de les fulles. Per tant, es pot concloure que la morfologia foliar, que es posa en evidència amb l’utilització de mètodes de geometria morfomètrica, podria ser una característica crucial per la distinció taxonòmica efectiva de l’espècie.

[eng] To quantify and understand the causes of population differentiation in plants is essential to evaluate the taxonomic structure of the species. Using linear and geometric morphometric approaches, phenotypic variation and associations between leaf traits were investigated in Smilax aspera L. var. aspera and the endemic Balearic Smilax aspera L. var. balearica Willk, which are two varieties that are subordinate to the species Smilax aspera L., which has a great variability in the shape and size of the leaves. Other differential features were also analysed between the two varieties, such as the thickness of the stem and the abundance of thorns. The morphometric results show that both taxa present different patterns of variation in the shape of the leaves. Therefore, it can be concluded that foliar morphology, which is evidenced by the use of morphometric geometry methods, could be a crucial characteristic for the effective taxonomic distinction of the species
