[eng] In recent decades, the use of Information and Communication Technologies in classrooms and
teaching has increased. One of the most outstanding ICTs would be Educational Robotics. ER,
through the construction of robots, has demonstrated both academic and psychological benefits
in childhood. The objective of this Final Master's Paper was to investigate whether ER is capable
of improving the Executive Functions, especially the planning, of children in the first year of
Primary School. For this purpose, an experimental sample of 5 children studying ER was used,
as opposed to a control group of 5 children without ER. The intervention with ER was 240
minutes, with a test-retest period of 21 days. The Porteus Maza Test was used for the evaluation
of planning, and the Childhood Executive Functioning Inventory for the FFEE in general. The
results show major clinically relevant differences from the subscale CHEXI Working memory,
with a high r effect size (-0.51) and a 3:1 subject improvement ratio, favorable to the
experimental group. However, the planning subfunction obtained a small effect size (0.24-0.25)
and an improvement ratio of only 2:1. It is necessary to replicate the study trying to overcome
limitations such as sample size, test-retest time interval and intervention, among others.
