L’adultcentrisme i com combatre’l des de l’Educació Social

Abstract

[eng] Youth is one of the most socially discriminated groups of society. The conception of youth and their treatment demands a social change. A change that must start from the importance of knowing about the existence of adultism as a form of discrimination against children and youth in order to be able to combat it. The following work seeks to bring the concept of adultism closer to the world of social education going through different themes that enable society to understand the discrimination. In order to understand the adult power oppression, it is necessary to first understand the social perception, history and existing theories about youth as well as the different systems of discrimination that are prevailing in society. Knowing adultism is important because it affects the perception of social workers of the world. And this perception will define their interventions.

[cat] Les joventuts són un dels col·lectius més discriminats socialment. La concepció de les joventuts i el tractament que es fa sobre aquestes demana un canvi social que ha de partir des de la importància de tenir present l’existència de l’adultcentrisme com a forma de discriminació d’infants i joves per a poder combatre-la. El següent treball pretén apropar el concepte d’adultcentrisme al món de l’educació social passant per diferents temàtiques que permeten entendre la discriminació. Per entendre l’opressió del poder adult cal entendre abans la percepció social, la història i les teories existents sobre les joventuts així com els diferents sistemes d’opressió imperants a la societat. Conèixer l’adultcentrisme és important perquè afecta la percepció del món de les professionals de l’educació social, la qual definirà les seves intervencions.
