Monomarentalitat

[cat] Vivim en una societat que es troba en continu canvi, i amb el temps aquests canvis s’han reflectit en les estructures familiars, que han passat de tan sols existir la família nuclear (formada per un pare, una mare i un o més fills i filles) a haver-hi prop de 10 tipus d’estructures familiars diferents. Entre aquestes noves tipologies s’hi troba la família monomarental que és la que està formada per una mare amb un/a o més fills/es. El principal objectiu del treball, és veure si la literatura té en compte aquest tipus d’estructura familiar i quin paper se li dóna. L’evidència mostra que, tot i que existeixen un major nombre de famílies monomarentals (encapçalades per mares), la literatura parla sobre estructures monoparentals (les encapçalades per pares), de manera que no dóna a la monomarentalitat la importància que realment té.

[eng] We live in a society that is constantly changing. Over time, these changes have affected family structures, which were conventionally nuclear (constituted by a father, a mother and one or more children) and developed into nearly 10 different types of family structures. Among these newly formed family structures, there exists one called “monomarental” family, which is that formed by a single mother and her children. The main objective of this study, is to see whether this type of family structure is taken into account by literature and which part does it play in it. The evidence shows that, although there are is a greater number of “monomarental” families (headed by mothers), literature discusses “monoparental” structures (led by the fathers), in a way that it does not give to the single-motherhood the importance that it really has.
