Análisis experimental para la medición del altruismo y confianza existente entre los economistas y otros colectivos

Abstract

[spa] El altruismo es un comportamiento social de difícil medición, dado que depende de las preferencias intrínsecas de los propios individuos hacía los demás sujetos que componen la sociedad. En este experimento se simulará un juego de inversión, en el que participarán sujetos que serán estudiantes que estén cursando la carrera, economistas que hayan finalizado la carrera y no economistas. El juego de inversión forzará a los individuos a revelar sus preferencias a través de la elección de seguros sobre un pago, con el fin de que estos datos revelen sus verdaderas preferencias altruistas y grado de confianza hacia los demás. Con los resultados del experimento se explorará si los economistas y no economistas desconfían más los unos de los otros y si estas tendencias se mantienen cuando estos mismos actores juegan contra sujetos de sus mismos colectivos. Emplearemos un test estadístico de igualdad de medias para averiguar la relación existente entre los resultados.

[eng] Altruism is a social behavior hard to be measured, as it relies on personal preferences from individuals towards the rest of people included in society. In this experiment we will simulate an investment game, in which participants will be economy or finance students and people with no relation to economics or finance. The game we introduce will force players to reveal their preferences when selecting their insurance cover over a number of payments, with the objective of making them show their real altruism and trust preferences towards the subjects from the other collective against whom they play. With the results of the experiment, we will explore if economist’s show different levels of trust against those who didn’t study economics and in the opposite way, those who didn’t study economics show different altruism towards them, later we will perform the same game but making the players play against their own collective. We will finally use a statistic for mean averages test to seek for the underlying relationship between our different results.
